Supply chain digitalization in agriculture sector

CYRIAN is a cocoa trading company based in Côte d’Ivoire and France, providing buyers and consumers with cocoa beans and better product quality thanks to a transparent track and trace system

Technical solution

The project was separated into two stages and was implemented independently of each other. At the first stage, we developed a database with multi-user access and a CRM system to ensure control over the information about suppliers, its collection and storage. Due to the specifics of the business and a large number of field workers in remote areas, we developed a cross-platform mobile application using PhoneGap with offline mode support. Additionally, we developed an algorithm for data synchronization when purchasing clerks come back and access the network. We also provided integration of our solution with electronic weighing scales for reading batch data and filling the database automatically.

The challenge of the second stage was the digitalization of business processes and the development of an ERP system for the supply chain and document management. We examined the customer's business, described and visualized all major components of the supply chain through BPMN, including Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, and Return. We designed the application architecture and organized the control and management of data. As a result, the client got an ERP system for managing the supply chain and day-to-day business activities.
